With the recent launch of iCloud and iOS 5 with deep integration of Twitter, it is reported that Apple is on move to get more things on iCloud such as Movies on iCloud. According to the both WSJ and LA Times report, Apple is seeking for a deal with Hollywood folks to get their releases on iCloud and completely wants to kill the packaged based CD/DVD.
According to the report, Apple is securing a deal with Hollywood for the rights to stream the content on iCloud may be until the end of this year or in the start of 2012, we have already seen in last few months that Apple is struggling to ink deals with Music Industry to get their music on iCloud to stream to its devices.

“Representatives of the iPhone and iPad maker have been meeting with studios to finalize deals that would allow consumers to buy movies through iTunes and access them on any Apple device, according to knowledgeable people who requested anonymity because the discussions are private. The service is expected to launch in late 2011 or early 2012.”
The LA Times’ report even mentions the possibility of Apple opening up content from the studio-backed Ultraviolet streaming service to iOS apps. Perhaps a trade-off that allowed them to secure deals for iCloud?
